Insulation from the outside of a thatched timber-framed cottage

Coupled with the conversion of the south-facing facade to a direct-glazed timber frame, this client-aided works reinforces the insulation of the north wall. A structure of small-sectioned timbers was attached to the existing timber frame in order to receive an insulation made from jute. This was then clad in Douglas Fir planks. This initial works will be later followed to completely enclose the house and keep the heat in during winter.
